OBJECTIVE—
Many studies have sought to evaluate whether the use of self-monitoring of blood glucose (SMBG) positively affects
diabetic care in assessing glycemia. There are multiple sources of bias including the population studied, the mode of treatments,
durations of the trial, and study designs, all the issues affect the evaluation of conclusion in each trial. Aim of this study was to
investigate the improvement of HbA1c in diabetic patients of more than 3 months intervention of SMBG with stable health
educational control. |

OBJECTIVE—
The prevalence of diabetics is increasing at an alarming rate, as are the associated personal and societal costs. Therefore,
Shared Care of Network for diabetes was advanced by Department of Health (DOH) in Taiwan to promote the integration of
basic medical resources, setup of case management procedure as well as education programs for the public health nurses, and
improvement of control in diabetic complications. In this study, we reviewed our care system to evaluate the continuous health
instructions are helpful to patients on well control of their glucose level. |

OBJECTIVE—
Recent studies showed that the ability of patients to tightly control their glycemic variation may become a paramount
task of diabetes management. Glucose variability, considered in combination with A1c, maybe a more reliable indicator of blood
glucose control and the risk for long-term complications than A1c alone, and a good prediction performance of the measure for
diabetes called the average daily risk range (ADRR) has been demonstrated. It is therefore important to evaluate the application
of ADRR in health education performance from routine self-monitoring blood glucose (SMBG) task. |

Doctors usually adjust medications according to the measured values of Self-Monitoring of Blood Glucose (SMBG) in patients with diabetes disease. However, inaccurate BG meter, stripes or improper operation will influence the accuracy of measured result. Hence, providing octors accurate measurements is a key step. In this study, Changhua christian Hospital (CCH) evaluated the quality control of educational intervention for BG measurement. We anticipated that the correct concept of quality control and accurately measured operation will carry out SMBG in patients effectively and improve diabetes patients’ health. |

The fasting plasma glucose value is an important parameter for physician to consult when diabetic outpatients returned. Patients would control their blood sugar level purposely before attending, therefore hypoglycemia may happen. In this study, we tried to conclude some behavioral factors that patients may do intentionally and thus may cause hypoglycemia. Hence the diabetic education could be given properly and more effectively. |

Under the Taiwan government policies, medical care is separated into two professional services: medical treatment and care service. Thus care facilities must advance their expertise and provide comprehensive services. A high quality servicing mechanism, by consolidating the system management, delivering real-time care, and improving the service techniques, has to be developed for home care services. |
